Pierre Toussaint Leadership & Learning Center-Notre Dame d’Haiti Catholic Church is the largest Haitian institution in the Haitian American Diaspora. Located in the heart of Little Haiti, Miami, Florida, the church congregates over 5,000 people on a given Sunday and the Pierre Toussaint Leadership & Learning Center provides services to over 1,000 families on a daily basis.

Our History
The History Behind The Institution
The Pierre Toussaint Leadership & Learning Center was dedicated by Father Thomas G. Wenski now serving as Archbishop of Miami, in the early 1980s to meet not only the pastoral and spiritual needs of the Haitian American communities of South Florida but also to provide numerous social, educational and legal services to newly arrived Haitian immigrants.
In 2010, Reverend Reginald Jean-Mary, current administrator of Notre Dame D’Haiti Catholic Church added an after-school tutoring program for children in kindergarten to 8th grade. This program provides a challenging, yet enjoyable, academically structured curriculum supported in part by Miami-Dade County Public Schools. In addition, Pierre Toussaint Leadership and Learning Center, in partnership with Lindsey Hopkins Technical College, offers a year-long English literacy program. The program has been operating for several years, and currently has more than 250 participants.
In 2022, in response to several large Special Area Plan (SAPs) projects announced for Miami’s Little Haiti neighborhood, we launched the Pierre Toussaint Leadership and Learning Center’s Technical Lab. Some of these plans valued at more than a billion dollars, with plans to develop the area into a super tech hub. Every new job being proposed is technologically advanced and residents of the Haitian community just aren’t ready to fully participate take part in this growth. These plans make the need for the Pierre Toussaint Leadership and Learning Center (PTLLC) Technology Lab an absolute “must have” for the community. The PTLLC Tech Lab is the only facility uniquely positioned to fill the knowledge, skills, and employability gaps and help the Haitian community share in the new economy growing at its doorstep.
